Cabin In the Sky

This is a free, three-day outdoor Afrofuturist activation by artist Ifé Franklin in Franklin Park. The ancestral Slave/Freedom Cabin becomes a mothership, a vessel carrying the souls of our ancestors toward freedom. Through an Ancestor Procession, a Hush Harbor, projection, soundscape, ring shout, and community ritual, we gather across past, present, and future. Dressed in white, we walk into the realm of the ancestors. Look up.

The event will take place in Franklin Park in Boston. Go to Playstead Rd near the back entrance of the Franklin Park Zoo. Look for the Giraffe Entrance.

This event is presented through the Un-Monument Project, the City of Boston Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture, and the Mellon Foundation with fiscal sponsorship by The Theater Offensive.
