About the instructor:

Sayaka grew up in a small coastal town called Kamakura, Japan, where the mountains and sea blend with rich historical gems. As a child, she was fascinated by art, particularly colors, and how they shape human emotions. Sayaka pursued Color Psychology at Seishin Joshi University in Tokyo and later worked in the Advertisement Department of Kanebo Cosmetics in Japan. When Sayaka moved to the United States, she decided to focus her studies on ceramics. She received a master’s degree in fine arts from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and has over 30 years of experience in ceramics. She’s participated in Juried Ceramics shows and Exhibits, and her art pieces are sold at craft events and to private clients. Sayaka also enjoys teaching pottery, helping aspiring students bring out their creative strengths and apply them to their art.
