Shalin Liu Performance Center

On June 10, 2010, Rockport Music opened the doors to the Shalin Liu Performance Center. We believe this extraordinary building – with its spectacular views and superb acoustics – has become an important cultural resource for the greater Boston community, attracting well-known performers, audiences, and visitors to Cape Ann.

The performance center, designed to showcase chamber music, is the home of Rockport Music’s signature presentation, the Rockport Chamber Music Festival, which includes over 20 concerts, as well as pre-concert lectures, open rehearsals and free events for families. In order to appeal to a broad range of tastes, the center also hosts the Rockport Jazz Festival, as well as a diverse series of classical, jazz, folk, world and pop music concerts; HD broadcasts from the Metropolitan Opera and England’s National Theatre and films.

Accessible Parking

An accessible parking space for patrons with accessible placards is available at our administrative offices located at 16 Main Street.

Accessible parking is available in several locations throughout Rockport at marked spots as well (1 in front of the building). Those with placards may also park at any public metered spot without “feeding” the meter. All other parking rules will be in effect (per the Parking Clerk of the Town of Rockport). More Info
Accessible Restrooms

Accessible restrooms are available on the following levels of the Shalin Liu Performance Center (lower level, and third floor reception hall).
All Gender Restrooms

All gender restrooms are located on the third floor, accessible via stairs or elevator.
Drop Off

There is a drop off/pick-up (loading zone) area immediately in front of the venue which allows easy access into the venue, however, parking is not allowed in the loading zone.
Elevator

An elevator is available in our lobby and can reach all of our floors.

Our Will Call and Ticketing desk is stationed from 1 hour prior to the event time to up to 30 minutes post-curtain for questions. In addition, a Manager-on-Duty is available until the end of the performance.

Assisted Listening Devices:

In addition to our existing Listen Technologies™ assistive listening system, we have now incorporated the Listen EVERYWHERE mobile solution, allowing users to stream audio directly to their smartphone. Just download the app (by scanning the QR code to the right), log onto our Wi-Fi when you are at the hall, plug in your earphones or connect your hearing aid via Bluetooth and choose the Rockport Music/Shalin Liu channel. It’s that simple! Look for signs throughout the hall when you arrive at your concert.

Additionally, we offer assisted listening devices which you may check one out at the front desk.
Service Animal

Services animals are permitted in the performance hall. If we may assist you or your service animal in any way, please don't hesitate to ask.
Wheelchair Access

Accessible seating is available in all Tier levels based on party size. Seating for guests with physical mobility accommodations and their party is available by calling the Box Office at (978) 546-7391 so that we can best accommodate your needs.

ADDITIONAL ACCESSIBILITY INFO: There are stairs required to get to the following seating locations:

Most Loge seating (seating closer to the rear of the hall do not require stairs, however seating closer to the stage require stairs)
all Balcony and Stage Balcony seating
Rows A-E of the Center Balcony

Orchestra seating and Row F of the Center Balcony do not require stairs to get to seats.
